Reducing embodied carbon in buildings is critical to achieving net zero and carbon neutral construction targets.
Yet there is much uncertainty about how to reduce embodied carbon....

Get to Know Us
At Carbon Lab, we make sustainability accessible, actionable, and impactful. Led by Laura Pachon, an architectural designer and environmental consultant with over a decade in the industry, we bridge design and data to drive carbon reduction. From Revit and parametric tools to low-carbon material research, we collaborate with experts to deliver practical, high-impact solutions for every scale.
What We Do
Net-Zero Carbon Buildings
We are a boutique environmental consultancy dedicated to achieving net-zero carbon buildings. Our work involves researching, collaborating and advocating for the specification of healthy materials, conducting building life-cycle assessments, and promoting circularity. Engaging with experts in the industry to provide other bespoke analysis.
Circular Economy Solutions
Our approach includes providing circular economy solutions that minimise waste and maximize the lifespan of materials and products. We provide Building Circularity Assessments powered by the industry-leading Circularity software tool offering a building circularity score to quantify material circularity in designs. Review specific scenarios for end-of-life processes tailored to material types
Life Cycle Assessments
Estimate embodied carbon using one of the industry's leading Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software, equipped with the most up-to-date material database available. We can deliver a report that includes performance metrics, showcasing the range of results for comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments related buildings.
Low-carbon
Materials Specification
Ensuring environmental compliance and regulatory adherence is paramount in our services. We help clients navigate, advocate and specify low-carbon materials that embed certifications such as Environmental Product Declarations and other environmental accreditations for certifications such as Green Star, WELL or LBC.
Sustainability Workshops
We conduct sustainability workshops and training sessions to educate and empower organizations in implementing sustainable and low-carbon design practices, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
Environmental Designer, LCA Specialist and Revit expert (Founder)
Laura is dedicated to addressing the climate crisis through her expertise in building life cycle assessments. She specialises in circularity and the specification of healthy materials, helping organisations reduce their carbon footprints from the earliest stages of design. With over a decade of experience in the building industry as an architectural designer and advanced environmental qualifications from institutions such as Parsons and the University of Melbourne, Laura offers bespoke assessments to different typologies in a very graphical and visual way. She has worked with leading international firms, including Atelier Ten as an environmental consultant and Grimshaw as designer leading major projects.

Parametric design and thermal performance (Collaborator)
with over 7 years experience as an environmental consultant and a background in architecture, Henry’s work involves the integration of parametric design tools (Grasshopper) to understand the implications of design changes to optimise holistic outcomes. Including section J analysis, Bio-climatic site analysis, thermal comfort and has performed overheating for both indoor
and outdoor environments

Passive House designer (Collaborator)
Daniel Londono is a technically skilled and collaborative architect with deep expertise in building science and sustainable design. A certified Passivhaus and Green Star Accredited Professional, he integrates environmental performance analysis with architectural design, applying advanced building physics principles to optimise energy efficiency and comfort.
